How to use this page: every card carries our everyday reference price from the review record, next to the live Amazon price. A Black Friday deal is real when the live price is clearly below the reference. A crossed-out list price on a retailer's own page tells you nothing.

Black Friday is November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday is November 30, 2026. Grinders behave differently from machines in deal season: the discounts are shallower, they appear later, and the good ones sell out.

The reviewed grinder field, cheapest first

Every burr grinder carrying a published CoffeeLabAdvisor review and an Amazon listing, ordered by our recorded reference price. A November price below that reference is a real discount.

Baratza

Baratza Encore ESP

$199.95Live Amazon price · as of 10/06/2026 2:13 PM

Everyday reference price $199 from our review record. Baratza took the Encore platform and reworked it for espresso: a tighter adjustment range at the fine end and M2 hardened steel burrs. Its adjustment is stepped rather than stepless, but the steps are unusually fine at the espresso end, so it can still be dialled in — that is the whole point of the ESP revision. It is not the quietest or the prettiest grinder, and 40 mm is a small burr set, but Baratza publishes exploded diagrams and sells replacement parts, so it is unusually serviceable for its price — you can repair it rather than replace it.

Breville Smart Grinder Pro

$159.95Live Amazon price · as of 10/06/2026 3:15 PM

Everyday reference price $199 from our review record. The Breville Smart Grinder Pro is the long-selling $200 conical with 60 settings and Dosing iQ — it grinds espresso to French press and straight into the portafilter. A direct Encore ESP competitor at the same price tier. Honest trade-offs: conical fines, time-based dosing, and a plastic build. Catalog listing — full review and award evaluation pending.

DF64 (Turin / Miicoffee)

DF64 Gen 2

$389.00Live Amazon price · as of 10/06/2026 2:07 PM

Everyday reference price $389 from our review record. 64 mm flat burrs in a single-dose, stepless body — the same burr diameter as the Timemore Sculptor 064S in our catalog, which costs more, though diameter on its own does not settle how a grinder performs. Its real appeal is the upgrade path: it accepts aftermarket SSP burr sets, so the grinder can be improved rather than replaced. Owners frequently tune or replace the stock burr and declumper setup; we have not measured how much difference that makes. A reasonable entry into flat-burr espresso if you expect to modify it.

Fellow Ode Gen 2

$319.95Live Amazon price · as of 10/06/2026 2:19 PM

Everyday reference price $400 from our review record. A brew-only grinder with 64 mm flat burrs, a single-dose workflow and a small footprint, aimed at pour-over, AeroPress and batch brew. The Gen 2 revision changed the burr set. The decisive fact is not a matter of opinion: Fellow states the Ode Gen 2 is not suitable for espresso, so if you pull shots as well you need a second grinder — which is the whole reason it appears here as a filter recommendation rather than a general one.

Eureka

Eureka Mignon Specialita

$549.00Live Amazon price · as of 10/06/2026 2:39 PM

Everyday reference price $549 from our review record. Italian-made, with 55 mm hardened steel burrs, stepless adjustment and Eureka's Silent Technology, which makes it unusually quiet for a flat-burr grinder. The timed dosing can be calibrated to deliver repeatable doses, though changing beans or grind setting means recalibrating. It sits in the middle of this list on price rather than at the budget end, and what you are paying for is build quality and adjustment feel rather than a larger burr set.

Eureka Mignon Libra

$799.00Live Amazon price · as of 10/06/2026 2:07 PM

Everyday reference price $799 from our review record. The Eureka Mignon Libra brings grind-by-weight to the Mignon line: an integrated scale doses to within ±0.2 g straight into the portafilter, on 55mm flat burrs with stepless adjustment. Assessed in our 2026 evaluation and recognised with an Honorable Mention for the weight-based workflow. Honest trade-offs: hopper-only workflow, a chute that scatters grounds without a dosing ring, and a premium price.

Why the grinder is the better Black Friday buy

If you are choosing between discounting the machine and discounting the grinder, take the grinder. An espresso machine sets an upper bound on what you can make; the grinder decides whether you get near it. Pre-ground coffee will not make good espresso in any machine at any price.

Our espresso grinder guide covers what to look for, and flat versus conical explains the geometry that the spec sheets lead with.

What the award field says

Our Best Overall Burr Grinder award for 2026 names one winner on a published rubric, with its reasoning and its limitations stated. If you want the short answer rather than the field, start there.

The grinders on this page are the whole reviewed field rather than the award shortlist, because in a sale the right answer is frequently the second-best grinder at a genuinely better price.

Match the grinder to the machine you own

A grinder that cannot reach espresso fineness is useless on an espresso machine, and a grinder built for espresso is often clumsy for filter. Our grinder pairing tool matches the reviewed field to specific machines, which is the check worth doing before a sale rather than during one.

Frequently asked questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Black Friday is November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday is November 30. Grinder discounts tend to appear later in the month than machine discounts and are usually shallower.

Should I buy a grinder or an espresso machine on Black Friday?

The grinder, if you have to choose. The machine sets a ceiling on what you can make and the grinder decides how close you get to it. Pre-ground coffee will not make good espresso in any machine.

What counts as a real grinder discount?

A live price clearly below the everyday reference price shown on each card here, which comes from our review record rather than from a retailer's crossed-out number.

Are hand grinders worth it over electric?

For one or two cups a day a good hand grinder matches electric grinders costing considerably more, at the cost of a minute of effort per dose.

Do grinders get discounted as much as machines?

No. Quality burr grinders are discounted less often and less deeply than machines, which is why a genuine November grinder price deserves priority over a machine you could equally buy in December.
