⭐ Honorable Mention — CoffeeLab Award 2026, Best Bean-to-Cup Machine →The Jura E8 is a Swiss bean-to-cup machine that delivers fresh-ground espresso, lungo and milk drinks at the touch of a button, with an integrated grinder and a dual thermoblock that brews and steams simultaneously. It is a convenience-first machine at a premium price of roughly $2,599, built for people who want café-quality drinks without learning espresso technique. As a bean-to-cup machine it has an internal grinder and no portafilter, which is by design rather than a limitation.
This machine includes a built-in grinder — see our verdict below on how it compares to pairing the machine with a dedicated grinder.

Jura E8 — FAQ
Is the Jura E8 worth the price?
If convenience and build quality are the priority, yes: it delivers consistent one-touch espresso and milk drinks with Swiss reliability and a dual thermoblock that brews and steams together. If you value hands-on control or a lower budget, a semi-automatic plus a dedicated grinder gives more control for less money. For the buyer who values convenience above all, the E8 is the sensible pick below the Z10.
Does the Jura E8 have a built-in grinder?
Yes. It has an integrated conical burr grinder that grinds fresh beans for every cup, which is part of what makes it a bean-to-cup machine. It has a small number of grind steps, enough for consistent one-touch results but less fine control than a dedicated grinder. The integrated grinder is what lets it work one-touch, and the small step range is a deliberate trade for simplicity.
Does the Jura E8 work well with plant-based milk?
Yes. The automatic milk system textures oat, soy and almond milk well, and we rate the E8 4 out of 5 for plant-milk support. The milk hose and pitcher need a one-touch rinse after milk drinks, and the automatic texture is consistent though less customisable than a skilled manual wand. The auto texture is consistent, and the rinse cycle keeps the milk path clean with almost no effort.
How is the Jura E8 different from the Jura Z10?
The Z10 is Jura's flagship: it adds true cold-extraction cold brew, a Product Recognising Grinder and more drink options, at a higher price of roughly $4,199. The E8 is the step below, still excellent for one-touch espresso and milk, but without the Z10's cold-brew and top-tier grinder features. Choose the E8 for the balance of price and features, and the Z10 if cold brew and the flagship grinder are worth the jump.
What maintenance does the Jura E8 require?
Jura machines need proprietary cleaning tablets, a milk-system rinse after milk drinks, and periodic filter replacement through the CLEARYL filter. Descaling uses Jura's own product. Servicing is typically done through authorised centres, which adds a recurring cost compared to self-serviceable semi-automatics. Budget for the proprietary consumables over the life of the machine, since they are a recurring part of ownership.
