The short answer
Buy the KitchenAid KF8 if you want saved drinks for up to six people, a dedicated plant-milk setting and the option of swapping beans. Our record marks it as best for multi-person and plant-milk households that want every convenience.
Buy the Jura E8 if you want a machine with a long ownership record and heating that does not have to switch between coffee and milk. Our record marks it as best for convenience-first buyers who want café drinks at home.
How we can say this: both machines went through the same published evaluation against the same rubric, and each one's full record is on its review page. That is a repeatable, documented comparison; it is not a tasting, and we say so wherever it matters.

No 2026 award
Multi-person and plant-milk households that want every convenience
We publish a score only for award winners, on the award page that justifies it, so this comparison is decided
on what the two machines do rather than on a number. In the words of the two review records: the
Jura E8 is A premium Swiss bean-to-cup machine that makes consistently excellent one-touch drinks with an integrated grinder and automatic milk. Expensive, with proprietary servicing, but one of the most convenient machines you can buy.
The KitchenAid KF8 is KitchenAid's flagship, with the range's best plant-milk results, six profiles, a 5-inch touchscreen and the only six-month test, which found no drop in extraction. It brews the same shot as the KF6 and KF7 for considerably more.
Neither of these is our 2026 award winner. The Best Overall Espresso Machine award went to the Breville Bambino Plus — a different answer to a different question — and its full scorecard is public on the
award page. This page is a comparison of two review records, not an award.

* Pressure figures are manufacturer-published pump ratings. A pump rating is the pump's maximum, not the pressure at the coffee during a shot, and we have not measured brew pressure on either machine, so the two numbers are shown because the manufacturers publish them, not as comparable measures of extraction. † Marked figures are not confirmed on a manufacturer source for the exact model number listed above; we have left our tracked value in place rather than substitute an unverified one. Plant-milk ratings are our own documented 1–5 scoring, published on each review page.
Portafilter sizes for every machine we cover, with sources, are on our portafilter size chart; footprints are on the dimensions chart.
The price arithmetic
Both machines include their grinder — Built-in grinder: Yes and Yes — so there is no hidden second purchase on either side and the arithmetic is simply the two machine prices.
| Machine | What it is | Live price |
| Jura E8 | Complete setup, grinder built in | $2,599 |
| KitchenAid KF8 | Complete setup, grinder built in | $2,000 |
At live prices the Jura E8 costs about $599 more than the KitchenAid KF8. Prices at retail move, and this figure moves with them; what does not move is what the premium buys, which the sections below take row by row from the two records.
Two thermoblocks or one heater
The Jura E8 has two thermoblocks, which is why our record credits it with brewing and frothing without waiting between the two. The KitchenAid KF8 uses one heater for water and milk, as Expert Reviews describes, and makes coffee and milk in sequence, with a setting for which goes in first. In daily use the KitchenAid KF8 still made a cappuccino from switch-on in under two minutes for Expert Reviews, so the difference is mostly felt when you make several milk drinks back to back.
Milk and plant milk
The KitchenAid KF8 draws milk from an included container through a hose, with a dual outlet for two drinks at once and a dedicated plant-milk setting that steams barista-style plant milks at a lower temperature. Testers found its plant-milk foam silky; one found no foam-density adjustment, which limits how different a cappuccino and a latte can be. Our plant-milk ratings for both machines are in the table above.
Counters, beans and evidence
The KitchenAid KF8 is narrower but much deeper than the Jura E8, so measure depth as well as width. Its removable hopper lets you swap to decaf; the Jura E8's hopper is part of the machine. Both rinse themselves, and testers found the KitchenAid KF8 uses a lot of water doing so. On evidence, the Jura E8 has years of ownership behind it, while the KitchenAid KF8's best durability record is one household's six months and more than 1,400 drinks with no drop in extraction.
